Maru, I have no doubt you'll nail it! I have rarely seen images like yours, and you know what you are doing, so I'm sure you'll get money for a new lens very soon! ;)

Good luck out there! We know you are up to the challenge, you just need the sky to cooperate!

Rafa.

Good luck Maru, you're the best for this type of shots ;)

Thanks. I know I could probably use the 28mm or even the 18-55 and be certain to catch an insignificant speck of light streaking across the sky, but I figure I might as well go big or go home, so I'm going to opt for the 70-200 :p

Let's not get carried away ;) Plus, I'll need the f/2.8 more than likely so I don't have to resort to ISO3200.

I've been helping a family member relocate from Texas to Mississippi, and haven't had much chance for shooting any pictures, but I did get these.

This is my first user image edit, I hope you don't mind! Lovely shot and view Sean. I opened your photograph into photoshop and was able lighten it up a bit (perhaps too much?) and pull out some nice red and yellow tones that I think seem to work with the blues in the image.

QUOTED IMAGE

Don't mind at all - that's why I have image editing enabled. I do prefer the original which is almost strait out of the camera, but yours is nice too

I'm looking for harsh criticism of my photos - tell me how to improve, I will be grateful.

Wolfy, I see the focal length at 400mm. Did you use the 70-200 with a 2x TC? Those are great, and if so, I can't wait until it warms up and I get my bird feeders back up so I can try to get some wildlife shots like that.

Snow is a four letter word, and thankfully, we don't get any here in South Florida.

Vectoria, where abouts are you in Ohio? I used to live in Trotwood (just outside of Dayton). Loved it (except for leaf raking in the fall).

I live in Maumee Ohio nothing here to do. I have have to drive to go somewhere nice :/ It snowed really hard here this morning but it is melting already. Can not wait for spring.

I will be 30 in July, some people hate turning 30 but I don't care I don't feel 30:) you look good for 69 I got to say.

I have to say you guys give me lots of inspiration every time I see these awesome pictures.

Thanks Rivest and Raf!

Maru - I had rented a 400mmL for a couple o weeks. They're cropped a good bit too. If the 2x Tc pics look that good, I'll happy to invest in one!!

Well friends, you now how they say that "Love takes Time" :) I'm now officially in love with my new lens! :) It was the first day of some decent light out there without rain, but having been raining all week has somewhat cleaned the air. Today we had a nice magic hour and sunset, and I did some of my 'golden city' shots to see the difference.

I'm not one for pixel peeping, but the resolution of this lens is nothing short of breathtaking. On this small details like lights, distant houses and hill trees, the difference is remarkable! Also the color rendition is so deep and contrasted that I find myself changing the curve from medium-contrast to linear in LR. The other aspect of great difference it the border of the frame. In the center, they are more on par, but on the borders of the frame the difference is also quite remarkable. Very happy with the 17-55!!

Here's my new sunset:

I did some 'product' pictures of some sculptures and my 70-200 in the magic hour light, I'll post them in a while. Hope you guys like it,

Rafa.
