yeah i guess that is an easy way of thinking abou it. But if i want to do a 30 second exposure what does that equal fraction wise. God i hate math LOL

It would just be a 30". Anything greater than 1 second is a whole number. Sort of.

huh? You mean in the body right? It has IS in the lens (depending on what lens you get) as most every Canon does.

I'd be more worried about entry level Nikons not having AF motors in the body, limiting lens choices.

edit: I guess I should add some pics :D

Here are some from Bangkok... (except for 2nd one, it is from the country)

This is my favorite bokeh pic to date (nifty 50)

Hey mikestarr, I've found that shooting with the 50/1.8 works pretty good if you keep the shutter at 1/80 and above. (1/60 can work if you can time your shots right). Try that with a 2.0-2.8 in low light and try the ISO from 800-3200.

Actually, its Jorge.

i'll do that...i'll maybe use AV mode more when shooting with a tripod and i'll use manual mode more to control the shutter speed. I really appreciate the advice guys...makes the learning curve easier

Hey there fellow San Franciscan. Nice pictures, it's great to see that you're getting decent pictures even though we've had such gloomy and uninspiring weather. I live out in the Richmond where it's pretty much always foggy, I can't wait until the sun starts shining again.

hey guys! lately i have been debating between 17-55 and 24-105. i think im leaning towards 24-105, pnly if i could find something fast to go with this. what would you guys/gals advise to pair with this? i will need something for indoors thats fast. i already have the 50 1.4, i think i might need something more wider than this. oh, and i already heard a lot about the sigma 30 1.4, any other choice i have?

What do you think? It was my first time with a DSLR.

Any comments/critiques are greatly appreciated.
