Quick question- how does one rotate the landscape shots when in preview/play mode?

It's in the menu somewhere. It's called auto rotate or something.

I agree, the more I get to use it the more impressed I am. I also took your suggestion and got a few of the Totally Rad Filters. I am heading to Phoenix for a few days of work so i hope to get some awesome sunsets. Then the following week we are heading to Burney Falls Ca and Pismo Beach. I have (2) 16gb cards.. I hope thats enough:D

lucky you!! I can't wait to see what you come back with.

Thanks. Looks like that rotates the images on the screen and on the monitor.

What I was looking for is the orientation sensor in camera if it displays images the way the camera is held, vertical when held vertical and horizontal when held horizontal? My P&S SD850IS has this feature, I thought a DSLR would.

I've not seen this feature...although I've never come into a situation where I've felt the need to use something like this. I don't use live view much anyway, mostly because I come from a film background, so I've never found the need for it.

The best place to look is the manual. Otherwise, experiment. Learning the menus in-camera definitely comes in handy.
