Sorry to say this, but I don't think you got the focus right on that one.

In 1896, Sir Frank Swettenham, the first resident-general of colonial Malaya, began constructing his official residence above the lake gardens. It was named 'Carcosa', a stylisation of the Italian word for 'dear place'.
In 1904, Sir Frank moved to the completed Carcosa, at the same time finishing a building called 'King's House' on an adjacent hillside. The King's House, today called the 'Seri Negara' (which means 'beautiful country'), was used to house the Governor of the Straits Settlements as well as other illustrious guests of the Malay Federation.
From 1904 until 1941, the Carcosa was the official residence of the highest British representatives to the Malay States. Today, it is one of the leading hotels in Kuala Lumpur with its manicured lawns and luxurious setting, truly here to stay for generations to come.
Btw, anyone know whos is Sir Frank Swettenham lol ;p

I tried taking some pictures of stars last night for the first time. These are all just single long exposures, so there's some noise and the stars aren't perfect points of light, but I'm pretty happy with the results. It was fun to get my feet wet in this area.

It was 25 minutes. It's pretty crazy how fast the Earth turns.

Wow, when I take extra long exposure shots, the camera takes a while (like really really long) to save the picture. Almost as long as I took it.

Indeed. Long Exposure Noise Reduction takes an additional exposure with the shutter closed for the same amount of time as the "light" exposure. I didn't have it on, so mine only took the 25 minutes.

I took this one too. It's crazy how visible the landscape is considering it was completely pitch black outside. The brightest streak is Jupiter.

How effective is the long exposure noise reduction? Is it only for jpeg output or does it apply to raw as well?

As far as I know it's only for JPEG output. It doesn't work any miracles, but it's a pretty nifty feature.

Please keep in mind they were handheld and made very fastly late at night ;) No sharpening at all. What do you think?

EDIT: I'll do them again tomorrow when I'll have more time, I find they too much on the grayish side than white.
