Aubin is 6 months old! This was taken my first day with the camera. Advice is welcome! Thanks for looking!

my only thing I would do is crop the right side of the picture where there is deadspace .....

what a cute boy! love the angle!

Thanks for the input. He was leaning against his dad playing with his train. I stood over him and got the picture. He's a very smiley little guy so I'm sure I'll be getting a lot more of him!

One thing, I'm really struggling when using the flash. In fact I hate it...the built in flash is terribly bright and way too in your face for how I like pictures. Would a 580EX be a better solution than a lighting set up/ studio? Id like to bounce the flash instead of it aiming right at people...

Or if you have any better advice please! I'm all ears!

No ideas on the flash .... I'm getting quite used to taking pictures WITHOUT the flash and just editing in DPP if I need to. I find the flash softens my pictures a lot more than I'd like it to, so I try not to use it if I dont' have to. I want an external flash too, but am also wanting another lens so I have to figure out which is the better benefit for me,

use natural light, so much more flattering for kids. keep the f value low.
