I can't believe no one has commented - these are gorgeous!

#1 is a perfect capture. Tender expressions, beautiful quality of light and shadow. You've managed to make an umbilical stump beautiful.
#2 is also gorgeous - I've seen (and taken) many shots like this, but the detail in the fingerprint - wow. I assume a macro lens? The macro level detail speaks something thematically larger about the preciousness of such small fingers holding on to mom or dad's finger.

I love the tonal range you have in both black and white conversions.

Thank you so much for your kind words. What I find with shooting my kids, is to shoot a ton and expect a few that actually come out decently :)

As for the lens used, I just used a 50 1.4 and did some cropping.

stunning photos really. The detail in that finger shot is amazing and I love the high contrast of the first shot. really great.
