I have a good friend who's asking for help on the following, but to be honest I am only into the DSLR's so I don't know what to tell her...

Would you be willing to help her with some advice and input? Thanks a million!!

Here's her note:

Could you please give me a little input on a couple of cameras?
I’ll need it as soon as you can

They are all canons:

G11 499.99

PowerShot SX210 IS 349.99

PowerShot SX20 IS 399.99

It would be taken in place of the XT because of the sheer bulk of the lenses and size of the XT
So here’s what I’m looking for in a camera:

Rapid shot abilities (like use during a sporting event aka stop motion shooting)
Really nice zoom
Image stabilizer
Flash
High megapixels
User friendly J
Value for the money

Unless you can suggest something different in a camera that’s not as big and bulky as the XT and its lenses.
I’d like to have the lens capabilities in a smaller camera without having to carry them along and be able to put it in my pocket

Any suggestions would be helpful. Btw we’re still taking the SX110 as well.

I just got back from Italy a few minutes ago, so I haven't had a chance to process my photos yet, but I gotta tell you, my new G11 was absolutely tremendous on this trip. All of the fellows who had DSLRs were stunned at the quality of the shots when I enlarged them, and the low light and IS capabilities really made them jealous. To be honest, we were all stunned at the performance of the G11. I wouldn't hesitate to take one of these on just about any trip. I usually carried it in my pocket (although I did have a small case for it and a little 220EX Speedlite - which I never used). I just received the camera a few days before we left on the trip, so I haven't been able to put together any filters or auxiliary lenses - that's next on the list.

I don't think you can go wrong with a G11. Have fun looking!

Yeah the G11 is absolutely fantastic. I fell in love with the G7 and they've only been getting better. Jump on it!
