A volcano has been going strong for the past week here in Iceland and I've taken 2 trips to get there and capturing the eruption. Hopefully I'll be able to get right up to it in my next trip.

Stream of lava flowing down.

when that stream of lava hit a giant block of ice.

Spectacular shots. Let's hope the trip to the lava flow doesn't get any shorter.

Not sure I'd want to get much closer than you already have!

Crazy! Weren't you at least nervous about the volcanic eruption? I'm no expert, but I thought that volcanoes can spit out rocks and lava very far away.

This one is no big deal, it's really tame. I'm planning to get within 200m of it, and many have.

And I really appriciate the compliments. it's taken on the cheap sigma 70-300 and in IQ it doesn't even stand a chance against the 12-24 or the 30mm sigmas. So I'd love to get closer to get some proper pics of it all :)

When it first erupted there was some talk about it melting a glacier and causing flooding. Is that a possibility?
