Antique Stroller..

My first post in still life. I was in Jonesborough TN last week and went into an antique shop and saw this stroller. I really liked the lighting and the character of the stroller. Please let me know what you think. Thanks...

I think I seee a little of what you saw that attracted you to it.

It might look good in B&W. Maybe a layer to darken up a lot of the backgorund (like a radial gradient or something). That would make the stroller the focal point a bit better, as would blurring the distracting background. I think that stroller sitting alone, maybe in front of a fireplace or some sort of rustic, but simeple, background could be very intriguing. Especially if the angle was a little lower so you couldn't see what was inside. Or maybe you can darken it up a little so you can't quite see what's inside. For soem reason it reminds me of that old horror movie, Rosemary's Baby. Maybe that's why I keep leaning toward making it darker and more mysterious. Maybe you saw something else.

i don't feel rosemary's baby type of stroller. i see more of a little house on the prarie.

Thanks guys for commenting, I liked the pic mainly because I remembered the atmosphere of the whole antique shop. It was almost like stepping back in time, (one of those guess you had to be there things.) thanks again for you comments..

bigun i know what you mean about antique shops. i live in new york city so each store, building, block has it's own unique atmosphere whether natural or created. heck, you go to nicer antique shops than i. i like the nitty gritty antique shops-the ones where your hands get filthy from all the settled dirt.

your image is lovely and the warm, homely and aged atmosphere of this interior really shows. did you push the stroller to this spot? maybe moving it to another area of the store might've given the stroller another more dominant look but i know sometimes moving things around is not possible. maybe even asking to take the stroller to the back of the shop for a few shots would have changed the feel of the stroller. just some thoughts.

last time i was at an antiques shop i asked to take a few pictures of some things and the owner was hesitant but i was reeeeeeeealy nice and kept rambling on about how excited i was to be there and i mentioned i was a student and promised not to use my flash. it worked! and i only purchased a $5 kodak brownie c. 1933. wish my pictures came out better though.

did you shoot more than one picture?

Exposingmyself (nice name btw ) I do have some more shots I'll post some of them later tahnks for the advice. I agree if I could have moved it to a diff area or tried from a diff angle it may have been a better shot. I may even change it to b/w to see if that gives it a better feel.
