I caught this guy though the trees at the Chicago Botanic Gardens. No idea what it is. Pretty big crop. Thanks!

Belted Kingfisher. They are hard to get. Very skittish and the move fast!

My wife and I joined the Chicago Botanic Garden last Fall. We love it there. Where on the grounds did you see the Kingfisher? I have never seen one around here and would love to.

Thanks for the ID! I heard him and turned around in time to see him fly behind the trees.

I was near Spider Island, but he was flying over the aquatic area where the lily pads are in the summer. I wish I could have found him again.
