... I noticed a huge crack on the ring on the Canon 60mm f/2.8 Macro (the ring at the top where it says the lenses brand, focal length, aperture, etc...). The crack goes all the way through, so the ring can actually be remove from the lens.

What should I do...

Still sell it?

Send it in to Canon (if that even is an option)?

Duct tape. If you don't have any you can find it at WalMart. (I'm in the south)

sell it "as is" notify the buyer, give them a discount. because lets face it either way you will have to spend something to get it fixed.

Well most people won't like that when they buy it. :p

Yeah, probably will.

Definitely not going to attempt to cover it up, no need to screw someone over. Hopefully POTN members aren't so worried about the aesthetics of the lens when they purchase it.

Sure, just need to take some pics of it.

EDIT: I'll post some pics of it in the morning.

If the lens still works fine, I would sell it and give an appropriate discount to the seller :)

Anyone want to post a price that I should sell this for? Planning to put all the crop lenses up for sale tomorrow.

I'd figure out what they normally sell for, and deduct about $150 for it. It doesn't effect the operation of the lens--does it?

Thankfully it doesn't effect the operation of the lens. It's completely aesthetic.
