These are such fantastic birds and I can't wait to witness one in the wild myself. I keep scouring the mountains in Spain on holiday but nothing yet. Sometimes I wish Peregrines would teach Sparrowhawks how to hunt. Tonight I had a dove hobbling across the lawn that had escaped from a Sprawk, nearly completely plucked and a big hole in its back. So far it is still alive but it really is in a bad way. I wish Sprawks would catch smaller birds that they can kill easier. Pigeons and doves are a little big for them. If it is still alive in the morning I will drop it in to the wildlife hospital on the way to work. www.moparuk.co.uk
