I bought my wife an Audi as a rather early birthday present so this of course created an opportunity for an impromptu photoshoot of our cars at sunset:

It's not the 5D. That 135L is simply magical. The focal length is perfect for these kinds of shots and shooting at F/2 really adds to it (all those shots were at F/2). That plus the quality of light when the sun is sooooo low on the horizon lights up cars beautifully.

Yeah I get you, the 135L is also on my wish list. At this point I just need something with better image quality and high ISO capabilities... I shoot mostly still subjects so the 5D classic is what I'm saving for.

Now I really don't feel bad about spending $ on camera gear.

Not to go OT here, but what do you have in the RSX? Looks like a track car...

Yeah it's my track car that is "mostly" street legal so I can drive it relatively comfortably to and from events or when I want to cruise around for fun. It's not the fastest car ever but it's reasonably fast, very reliable, very safe and handles unbelievably which is most important to me.

It's got:

Engine Bay:
K20Z1 with Blueprint Stage 2 cams and valvetrain
Mugen Intake
RBC Intake manifold
Unorthodox Racing pulleys
Hondata Intake manifold gasket
JDM valve cover
Mugen CF valve cover
Mugen strut bar
Innovative 60A polyurethane motor mounts
Hondata KPro - Evans Tuned

Exhaust:
Buddy Club Race Header
Comptech cat-back

Tranmission:
Quaife LSD
Competition Clutch 6-puck clutch with 8lb flywheel

Brakes:
Stoptech BBK front
Stoptech slotted rotors
Stoptech stainless steel brake lines
ATE Super Blue brake fluid
Hawk HP+ pads (for street/autocross)
Hawk HT-10 pads (for track)

Wheels
5Zigen 17x8 FN01R hyperblack wheels with Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec 235/40/17 for street/autocross
Enkei 17x8 RPF-1 silver wheels with Nitto NT-01 235/40/17 for track

Suspension
Buddy Club RSD coilovers
Progress 24mm rear sway bar
Honda 16mm front sway bar

Exterior:
C-West Kouki front bumper with CF canards
A-Spec rear wing
ING+1 CF hood
Benen front and rear tow hooks
HID and foglights
Smoked window visors

Interior
Momo competition steering wheel with NRG quick release hub
Sparco Pro ADV driver seat with sparco railing
Sparco Pro 2000 passenger seat
Sparco 6pt harnesses
Kendood DNX-6140 head unit (bluetooth, navi, etc)
Valentine One hardwired
Steward Warner guages (shift, digital tach, oil pressure, oil temp)
IOPort Racing rollbar
Removed rear seats
Gentex Auto Dimming mirror

For the interested, here's video of the car in action:
http://www.youtube.com …re=mhw4#p/u/1/tbqkvRCHmNA (external link)

It's come a long way from when it was featured in Modified magazine in January of 2007.

..bottom line is yeah, it makes my photography spending pale in comparison...haha.

No, I haven't had a chance to shoot my car in a while...partly because the bumper was cracked pretty badly last year and partly because I kept seeing it for sale on Ebay :(

Camera for in-car video was just an Aiptek 720P camera on an IOPort racing camera mount connected to the rollbar. I'll see if I can do a shoot of my car this weekend. It's long overdue.
