Took these whilst walking across some scrubland near my home today.
Anyone know what this is? I have never seen one of these before, if it helps with ID it was taken just west of Houston, Texas

Butterfly....no idea what type :)

Grasshopper or Cricket?? He really didn't want to have his picture taken!

As you can tell my insect identification is non-existent, but I do have fun shooting them.

First is a hummingbird moth of some kind. :)

Wow, thanks. When I saw it I was thinking hummingbird, but then of course it is an insect. Never even heard of a hummingbird moth before :D

We have Sphinx Moths in California - similar to those - they're pretty amazing. The butterfly is a buckeye of some sort. And lastly, that is a grasshopper.
