When I first got my 7D, I had MFA'd my 24-70 with -2. However, my 24-70 was recently repaired and the AF assembly was replaced. After getting it back, it hasn't needed any MFA.

Having said that, every camera and every lens is different. So if you find that your camera and/or lens and/or combo needs it, I wouldn't think too much about it. If you find that ALL your lenses are off by +/- X amount, then that may be a little more troublesome. Although this can be accounted for as well.

It was something I noticed right away (after some pixel peeping).. I then printed out TeamSpeed's focus adjustment chart and took a few sample shots that way

You can find his chart here:

I have that combo. I'm not satisfied I have the MA right yet. Lighting seems to play a significantly huge factor in the MA required. I've gone from -19, to +2 through a change of Light (eg Flourescent through Cloudy Daylight, through Sunlight). I'm currently on -8 and seeing a general improvement. Need to tweak this a bit more.

this is not sound very normal...af sharpness has to do with the F 's (smaller f's =sharper image) but i dont think it has to do with lightning..!!!maybe the lens has an issue..???did you check it..??

I adjusted mine to +12. I'm going to check it on my 5DII. If it need adjustment there, I'm going to send it in for calibration.
