I take quite a few people out photographing/birding from other parts of the country (and world for that matter) and the one bird they all want to see is the Green Jay. Their expressions upon spotting one are priceless. Seemed an appropriate choice for my 1,000th post.

I had never even heard of Green Jays before. Seeing the pair of them together makes for some nice shots.

Miles,

Congrats on your 1000th Post and Some really great shots of this colorful Jay to go along with it.

I dont believe I have seen many of these posted, there beautiful birds. they appear to have an eye tuft above there eye in the black feathers, and that false patch of blue which almost mimics an eye... Very interesting birds!!!
