Yup. I'm about to do just that. Didn't know if 2filter was one of those places where they don't take cancellations.

FYI, I just ordered the last one from Kenmore Photo. Shipping to me today, should receive this week $150 OTD to California. Start scouring the local shops over the nation everyone.

Hi guys,

Just a tips for those of you that are still waiting for their big stopper from 2filters, I ordered mine here (external link) on Thursday and I received it today. I do believe they still have some. I placed the order over the phone (I mention it although I am not sure it made a difference).

Hope that'll help.

Blurryworld, thank you for posting this!!! I was on the 2Filter waiting list for a few weeks now (#75) and was pretty much told that I wouldn't have the Big Stopper by the time my vacation rolled around next Wednesday. I saw your post yesterday at 5pm, immediately placed my order and received a shipping confirmation at 9pm! I don't have the filter yet (obviously), but am expecting it to arrive before the weekend. Again, THANK YOU FOR THE HEADS-UP!!!

You'll be okay. I sent them a cancellation request e-mail last night and they replied early this morning with no-hassle. I've purchased from them before and will definitely buy from them again.

Hmm, I guess if I order two I won't be out of luck as I can easily resell one for minimal loss? or profit?

Don't worry. Send them an email to cancel your order and they won't make any problem!

Awesome. I'm going to cancel now. Thanks for the heads up blurryworld!

I should have asked if they had the 77mm Wide Angle adapter in stock ...

Or just get a cokin z-pro

I'm a "bird in the hand" type of guy. I'll consider myself lucky when the filter is in my possession (and in one piece).

Thank you for the well-wishing!

Just check out the Cokin Zpro before you buy it , the 3 locating pins could be in the way when you want to slide the Big stopper in , and could eventually damage the foam on the Big Stopper, the 'face' of the Zpro is also not smooth which could also cause wear damage eventually, I'm not sure. I have a Zpro , ordered a lee foundation kit with my B-Stopper should be here on Thursday, It looks like the Lee Holder will fit and remove easier onto the adapter ring on the lens than the ZPro does , one will probably remove the holder a lot to compose/focus.

but dang where can i find a 77mm wide angle adapter? I mean, I can grab one of the easier to find ones, but I won't be able to use the 17-40mm on my 5d. I'll be limited to the 35/2 as my widest. In hawaii I want some dramatic landscapes (I'll use longer lenses too since I know landscapes aren't always wide).

EDIT: Fingers are crossed again. Calumet showed one Lee 77mm WA adapter in their whole chain, and I just ordered it. I hope their inventory system is highly accurate.

Call those guys:

http://www.schneideroptics.com/contact/contact.htm (external link)

Phone:
800-228-1254 or
818-766-3715

When the 77mm w/a was unavailable everywhere, they told me where to find some and I didn't wait a week to get mine. You can call them everyday or everyday 2 days and try to figure out when they shipped some and where they shipped them. Then call the stores they shipped the rings to immediately. It might be still out of stock on their websites when they actually have it in stock.

Cheers,
JB

Are you sure about this? Call Schneider for availability of proprietary Lee adapter rings?

100% sure! This is what I have done. I do believe and I might be wrong that Schneider distributes Lee products in the US. One more thing that I am not sure of but it is worth the try, you might be available to buy the ring directly from Schneider.

EDIT: Schneider sells the Lee filter holder modified (for the Schneider glass filter, a bit thicker) along with the 77mm W/A adapter ring together in a package. I found it weird to see the ring unavailable everywhere and yet available in the Schneider package. This is why I called them and figured this out.
