Hi all, this is my first "official" baby/child shoot, so go easy. A friend of a friend has a daughter who recently turned one and I was asked to photograph the party and kid. After getting over the nervousness and all, I think it went fairly well considering the amount of people milling around the house, plus everyone had a good time.

What I ask from everyone here is that, since this was my first time, can you give me feedback on how I did, as well as suggestions as to how I might improve for next time. Thanks everyone!

With mom:

Many more pics were taken, but this is just a select sample for a general consensus.

I think you did an excellent job. What kind of lighting did you use?

Thanks everyone! The lighting I used (really the only lighting I have...) is a camera mounted 430ex, and in this case, I was just bouncing it off the ceiling.

Cute, My humble suggestion is the skin tone looks a little blown out. But overall very sweet I love the cropping and expressions and I would kill for that LEOPARD chair in the 1st image! :)

Thanks for the input! I'll definitely keep that in mind about the skin tones. Its still a bit of a challenge for me to figure out what sort of PP style I want to apply to kid shoots like this, but I'm sure it will come in time.

As far as the chair goes, she might be selling it soon! haha. And you're in luck, there is a leopard ottoman that goes with it!
