Please critique composition and post processing. Again, I'm really new to photography. I''ve been shooting for 4 months and really appreciate the good and bad comments.

Thanks.

I would like to see what is to the right of #1. I like the colors.
#2 I really like the mood of this shot. Maybe feather the vignette a little (specially the lower right corner), but very nice. Can you pull some more detail from the floor?
#3 Sorry but I don't really see any story here.

Re #2: Tsk, tsk, tsk. ;) It's not a floor, but it's a rock garden with raked gravel from the famous Ryoanji Temple Sekitei.
I agree completely that a little more detail of the gravel pattern would be nice, and also agree 100% about the mood: it's reminiscent of some old photographs of Japan from the turn of the previous century. If you feel so inclined, you can purposefully stain, dogear, smudge and scratch the photo (digitally or physically) to make it look authentic.

#3: Perhaps composing with more of the tofu store with its awning signage and storefront in the frame would have more effectively provided the 'clash of culture' shot I presume you were looking for.

If it's in focus, it's pornography, if it's out of focus, it's art.

Thanks for your comments. #1 there was just a sidewalk w/ people walking on it.
#2 Not sure how to feather the vignette. I'll try and get more detail out of the floor.
#3 I like taking pics of graffiti and everything that encompasses it. I figured I would try and compose it w/ the scooter.

Thanks for your comments as well. I really don't know how to stain, dogear, smudge and scratch the photo. I'm still trying to learn photoshop techniques.

Do it the old fashioned way. ;)

Love the first two shots! Colors are great in #1, and I really like the composition/subjects in #2.

I like the content of #3, just not a fan of the tilt. Nice shots!

You can tell a good photograph when it keeps you wanting for more... such as more to the right of #1 :)

I like them all. Even the borders!

Something about #2 just makes me smile and want to go to Japan.

Checks bank account. No. Can't. Bugger. See what you've done! Now that is a good photo!
