This coming Friday I have a shoot taking place in a restaurant. I expect that the light conditions will not be optimal and I won't be able to use a flash. Which lens would you recommend based on the subject and the lighting conditions (shooting with 5D Mark II)

Any and all recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

What are you taking photos of? People? Food? Without more detail people won't be able to help.

If its just food on a plate you will need a tripod. If its people eating in a dark restaurant and your supposed to get shots of them dining and cant use a flash well....then...you might be in a bind. Do you have any lenses with a 0.0 aperture?

I think the 0.0 aperture comment is a little over the top. I've been able to shoot low light wedding receptions and DJ shows in clubs with minimal lighting with my 5dmk2 and a rented 85 1.2.

Sorry, didn't mean to sound brash in my first response. I'd love to have a 0.0 aperture lens, price would be an issue though :D

DOF = 0 = no thanks =P

Also all of your shots would be overexposed.

Actually your wrong because the camera that comes with the 0.0 aperture lens has a DOF priority mode, right in between AV and M.

To the OP. Best results (IMHO) will be done with a tripod. What lenses do you own? I would recomend the 100L but if you don't own one then....
