What's Canon's turn around time on repairs like? I've gotta send my 40d in for shutter button replacement. Local shop just said it was a 4-6 week turn around.

NON CPS members are usually averaging around 20+ days. Canon CPS Gold members, 3 day turnaround. Canon CPS Platinum members, 2 day turnaround.

Baloney! :D

Last year, I sent my 40D in for just exactly the same malfunction. I sent via my local camera store as I was concerned about it not coming back before I left on vacation. I needn't have worried. It was back within a week.

Of course, there are two factors that may have contributed to the quick turnaround. It was a warranty repair and I live less than 80 miles from the Irvine, CA service center...

Canon said approximately within 7 business days. Usually, for me less than that. But I do come in and pick it up my self.

Send in a lens where the AF motor got stuck. Total turn around time was less than 2 weeks.

The New Jersey center is usually 7 days total from the time it leaves my door. Sent my 7D and 24-105 in last week for calibration because I had to micro adjust to -20 and it still wasn't right. Had them back in my hands in three total days and everything is perfect.

They usually have it in house for 1 business week. Add in another 3-5 days on each in for shipping. 2-2.5 weeks max.
