Well it is $250.00 less then a brand new one. The UU date code is means it is 4 years old, but if it is sharp and in great condition and you don't mind it has no warranty or box, then its a good deal. Personally I would rather buy a brand new one, but that's me.

I guess if it's a guarantee that the lens is tack sharp, it'd be well worth it.

On ebay, a reputable dealer has new ones listed for $1,897.75. With 8% bing cashback it's $1745.93, so $120.93 more for a new one. One trip to Canon pretty much eats up that savings.

Well, there is a $64 double ebay bucks reward for my purchase, so the price would be $1561. But then again, a $64 savings wouldn't really be a factor at all for a $1600 purchase... Hopefully the lens is exactly what the seller said it would be so I wouldn't regret it at all.
