So I recently ordered a spare hot shoe level in case I ever needed it. The day it arrives in the mail it falls off my camera while I'm walking and is lost! You would figure I would learn my lesson and take it off while I am walking after that but apparently not. So yesterday I lost my last one so I have to order ANOTHER one. They are only $15 shipped but it is near impossible for me to tell if my images are level in PP so it is an absolutely imperative accessory for me. Am I the only one dumb enough to lose all my levels?

The wind also blew my 3-stop GND filter off the bag I had it sitting on yesterday and chipped it. Luckily it is on the very edge where it will never be used in an image. Overall yesterday was not an average day for me. I try to totally baby all my gear and it just didn't seem to want to work yesterday.

I've never used one, so I'm not a fair judge of how dumb you might be. ;)

Haha. How do you get by without one? I guess I just don't trust my eye at all for leveling.

I've found the EF-D focusing screen (external link) to be a great help.

Its happened to me as well...so I bought a handful of hotshoe levels dirt cheap from this place (they work just as well as the expensive ones):

After you put the hotshoe level on , you could try wrapping a small rubber band around it a few times. This will create friction between the top of the hotshoe and the base of the level, should prevent it falling off. You'll have to do this each time you put it on.

I own one as well but rarely use it. I have heard though that the hotshoe is not truly a level surface in comparison to the camera's base.

Thanks for the tips. I was thinking about taping them on as well. I will either do that or just put it in my pocket any time I'm not stationary. Thanks for the link argyle. I will order a few of the cheapos from there.
