Hello all,

I ordered the Lee filter system and some filters, but the 77mm adapter ring is on back order (found out after I paid for it, but that is another story).

Now that I have read more, I am thinking I need a wide angle one (not sure which I ordered), for my 24-70.

So, my question is, is there a part number for the wide angle ring so I make sure I get the right one?

Also, does anyone know why these are on back order from everywhere I have looked? This is very bad because now I have all the stuff, but can use it :-( .

When using the 24-70L on the 5D2, you will need the wide angle adapter ring if you plan on using that lens at the wide end. I have both adapter rings in 77mm size, wide and standard, and basically have yet to use the standard ring. You'll be able to get by without the standard ring, no matter which 77mm lens you plan on using.

My advice would be to contact the dealer that you ordered from and cancel the standard ring, then just pay the cost differential for the wide angle ring. Here's the link to what you'll need from 2filter.com (not sure where you bought yours):

B&H shows it as being in stock, but they're closed until 4/6/2010 due to religious observances. Here's the link:

You can always practice without using the holder...just hand hold the filter in front of the camera lens (take care not to scratch the filter).

Thanks so much for the link!!! I have looked all over the net and could not find any in stock. I did see it at B&H, but like you said, they are closed for another week. I bought my first one from Adorama, they said it was in stock until I payed for it, then I got a letter saying it was not in stock and I would have to wait 14-16 days. I sent an email back to get a refund, but now they are closed also for this holiday....

Anyway, I just ordered the one from the link you gave, thanks!!
