Hey all,

In a few weeks, I'm getting my bonus over 2008 and 2009. Thinking about spending up to around 1000 euros (market equivalent of 1200-1300 USD I think) on a new lens.

I currently have:
Tokina 11-16 f/2.8
Tamron 17-50 f/2.8
Tokina 35mm f/2.8 macro
Canon 28mm f/1.8
Canon 100mm f/2.8 macro

I'm very happy with all of these, so I don't really plan to replace / upgrade any of these.

I would however like to add something longer. Currently I am considering the following options:
Canon 55-250 IS
Canon 200mm II 2.8
Canon 70-200 F4 IS (I'd like 2.8, but for practical use it's on the heavy side and I think F4 would suit me fine)
Sigma 150-500 (but on the heady side, but such a nice range)
Canon 300mm F4 IS (too expensive really, but ... it's so lovely)

Possibly there are other / cheaper options. I may some day upgrade to a full frame camera, but I wouldn't consider using an EF-S lens a dealbreaker, since resale values are pretty good.
Does anyone have any advice on adding one of these to my (growing) collection?

I really love the size/weight of the 200/2.8, but I think that I could miss IS for indoor shots. The 150-500 is a whole different lens, but such an amazing range. 300 F4/IS is so versatile, but might miss a 100mm-300mm gap.
The 55-250 is way below all of these, but my colleague has it, and for 1/5th the price of a 70-200 F4 IS, I often wonder why I would spend like 800 more... It's just a very decent lens.
Tough choices... Alternative options are welcome of course ^_^

PS. I don't care about having a big red L in my signature, I just want a good tele lens to shoot with :D

Some of my lenses focus beyond infinity...!

yes, I also wonder why people spend 800 (€) more. Get the Canon 55-250IS or if you need more focal range get the Sigma or Canon 100-400
