I'm thinking about getting a Canon 70-200mm f2.8 non-IS lens to put on my 7D for shooting indoor sports (volleyball and basketball).

Does anyone have experience with this lens or this lens/camera combination? I'd appreciate your comments and suggestions.

other than the fact taht it might not be enough for indoor basketball and volleyball

youll probably need something more like 1.4

Used a 50d with 70-200 for volleyball with excellent results. Only used an 85mm 1.8 for basketball - depends on the gym.

I'm using the same combo but have the IS version. I'm not sure I could get as good of pics without the IS but I've never really tried. I usually shoot hand-held but maybe with a mono it would be fine.
