I have a couple of old Sunpak 544's that I'd like to start using for my off-camera lighting. There's a lot to like about working with these flashes for this purpose, but the one downside is how far away the flash head is from where I could mount an umbrella holder. I'm typically using 22" umbrellas.
So my question, does anyone know of a device that I can use to mount the shaft of the umbrella more closely to the head? Or has someone maybe devised a home-made solution? BTW, I can't permanently glue anything to the top as that's where the battery access is. I also need the solution to be fairly durable as I want to use this setup for weddings.
Here's what the 544 looks like for those who are unfamiliar:

Any insights will be appreciated.
