Who here is waiting for the Sigma 70-200 OS? :)

One of my guys was discussing 70-200 options with me and the topic of the Sigma came up. I myself use the 70-200/4 IS and love it, but I also remember my Sigma 70-200/2.8 (non-DG HSM) many years ago and it was a pretty decent lens so I mentioned it. Adding OS to that lens would be a most welcome change.

Have you heard anything about MSRP? We Googled it and didn't find a conclusive answer to what it's likely to sell for.

I'm waiting to see the price myself. I do not believe that information is available yet though.

If the price is right, and the AF issues are minimal, I think I'll bite

I almost hate to give up my f/4L but I've been thinking of upgrading to an IS lens. If the price is good I will look into the Sigma.

Very excited, and hoping it is affordable. I am thinking of selling my 150mm macro for this + canon 100mm macro for an ideal kit

Excellent :)

How's the track record of Sigma's OS on their other lenses? I'm sure their experience gained from other products (150-500, 120-400) would be brought forward into the 70-200's OS. If their other OS implementations have been good we should probably be able to expect a similar standard, if not better.

i'm looking forward to this one. i'm also looking forward to the sigma 85mm f1.4
i love seeing sigma kicking canon's butt in terms of pricing, giving us stuff that's 90% as good as a L glass wtih 1/3 the price.

I wish the price is only 20-30% more than the current HSM Sigma.

Otherwise I'm going to upgrade my f/4 to a Canon IS :)

I am waiting anxiously to see how good of a performer the lens is. I think it may be a bit too optimistic to assume that it will rival the Mark II Canon version. I'm hoping that it falls somewhere in between the version I and II Canon and is priced below the Canon version 1. If it performs equal or worse than the version 1, I will probably just pick up the used Canon. I have the non-OS and it is a good lens.

For me, as long as it is at least as good as the Canon MK1 and priced lower, I'm all in.
