Sorry if this has already been posted. A good read and some links for reviews on this lens. Based on these samples shots, I would actually give the new 70-200 an edge in contrast over the 200mm f/2.8 II prime lens. It also looks to be equally sharp, or at least very close.

I haven't seen this blog/review, however the results aren't anything new.
The MKII is sharper than the MKI at 100% and does well against the 200 2.8 prime.
