Would love to visit Cuba, and photograph some of the old American automobiles still in operation. However, looking close at the street scene, a bit trashy. The dumpster is full, and debris in and along the gutter. For the life of me, don't understand why the United States still holds such a grudge against Cuba. However, living in Nevada, can certainly see where allowing easy access to Cuba would have a negative effect on our primary industry, which is already suffering. Who would wish to gamble in the middle of the desert if they could do the same in a beautiful, not to mention photogenic, area?

I am so envious. Cuba must be a street photographer's dream - like a time machine in many ways. This is a very intriguing location. Please post more.

Thanks,

JH

Nice pics, especially the cars. I just don't understand why they don't have newer cars. I realize there's a trade embargo against them, but isn't that just with the United States? Aren't they allowed to buy cars from Japan, Mexico, etc.?

Confused.

Thank you. bw!

If time had to stop in the world of automobiles I would say Cuba is duly blessed with the timing of the embargo. Some of my favorite vintages and I love the boats they build from these models to escape the island.

There are dealerships there but the prices are way beyond what most people can afford.

I love seeing the old cars still in use. I like the most recent buildings shot.
