I can't decide if I want a 7D, t1i or t2i. it just seems like i don't need the 8 frames per sec and other stuff. and t2i is half its price. i do mostly portrait and landscape...although the weather sealing and robust feel is nice...but a ferrari is also nice...do i need it? argh...can't decide...help me

It depends if you need the focusing or not. Only differences are fps, weather sealing, focusing, ergonomics and the wireless flash function. Only you can say if you don't need them.

Have you considered the 50d? Same type of layout as the 7d but no video and less fps. if your interested pm me maybe we can make a deal.

what you mean by focusing? and i sold my 50d for this 7d so i'm either getting the t1i or t2i cause i want the video. and also...19 points af vs 9 points af...i don't think i need 19 points...im not a professional...so i don't think i will ever ultilize the 19af system, 8 fps, weather sealing i guess i can buy a rainsleeve for my t1i or t2i, not like i will risk my 7d without a rainsleeve anyway.

You said "portrait & landscape".

Perhaps you should be looking at a used (but good condition) 5Dc instead?

You can't afford a Ferrari but you can the 7D.

Maybe you should rent your potential downgrade camera and see how it compares....

if you reaalllly want video, i guess your only choice is either a t1i or a t2i..but i've handled/tried both cameras and it just didnt feel right compared to my 7d/5d. i guess its a matter of getting used to but its just not for me anymore (i used to have an xti) my friend also bought a t1i because of video (i suggested a 50d) but just after 2 months he sold it and got a 50d..he's much happier now even w/o video.

I second this. Nothing like a FF for portrait work

If I were you I'd keep the 7D...I'm not really enthusiastic about the ergonomics and feel of the rebel bodies. Learn the AF system and you'll find it's more handy to have than you think.

Also remember that rebel series are smaller than 7D, that was for me the major reason not to get rebel.

Sell it. You'll have peace of mind instead of this internal struggle.

just keep the damn thing.

you'll look back on this after selling it, buying a t2i, and realizing just how tiny the grip is on it.

wonderful cameras... horrid grips. it's only *slightly* mitigated by the battery grip...and only in one orientation.

unless you're making money off of it, there's no "need" about this :)

i have a camera. it takes nice pictures.

One thing that kinda bugs me from the rebel series is the full stop ISO increment instead of the 1/3 stop.
