It's a beautiful photo, disturbing, yes. But it's still artistic, not many photos around here seem to draw out many emotions. Checked your other pics and they are just awesome, guess it's just the culture difference that made it a little too macabre for some.

I also fail to see any artistic content in this photo and it was misleading, that in itself rubs me the wrong way, but of course is only my opinion.

yeah...I don't get it either..this is clearly mean to depict a dead child. First off..the title, and I don't know many cultures that put their children to sleep fully clothed wearing a hat and jacket, then toss flowers on them.

Why would anyone put together a shoot with a small child and think..."hmm...I think it would be cool if the kid looked dead..."

I think this, like your photo of the soldier, are meant as propaganda, not art. just my opinion though.

Real, or not, the image invokes a lot of emotion so I call this photo a success.

Thank you for supporting your position I

I could take a snapshot of my grandmother naked and it would invoke a lot of "emotion", but I'd hardly call it a success. Just sayin'.... but I DO understand your point.
I checked out some of Mahmood's other work, and he is actually quite good and has some very nice stuff posted to other sections of this forum. Don't mean to talk about you like you aren't in the "room", Mahmood. Your other work is excellent and though this particular post has stirred up a bit o' controversy, sometimes that is a good thing. We need to talk about things like this so we can get a sense of what the general thinking on different areas is, among our peers. From there, we can decide where we each want to draw the line, personally.

All participants agree that the work is somewhat strong
But provoked emotions everyone
