Great going Allen! Congrats to the other winners & HM.:D:D

Excellent and thoughtful choices and critiques Joe. Thanks for the comments on my image. I don't usually get that sloppy and I should have caught the burn and the halo around the foot and baby. I'm thinking about cropping it close to the baby's head and cropping out the foot altogether;)

"Death"

This image is beautiful. Highly symbolic and well orchestrated. My only nitpick is I think the top of this image could be cropped a bit to force the subjects to be even more central to the frame then they already are.

Here are the results of the challenge:

1st: AUtigers250z, "Death"
2nd: airfrogusmc, "Empty"
3rd: cubatahavana, "First Dandelion"
HM: monty28428, "Almost There"

Good job everyone ...

MODERATOR INTERVENTION: The rules state placing the subject in the title of the entry. This was not observed by AUtigers250z and thereby is disqualified. The new list of winners is below. Because I already placed an ordered list I had to support the existing list while selecting the next runner ups.

1st: airfrogusmc, "Empty"
2nd: cubatahavana, "First Dandelion"
3rd: monty28428, "Almost There"
HM: warl0rd, "Tagus River"

Thanks for the critique jetcode! First Speed Challenge to 'win', feel rather honored. Guess I'm never going to be able to win any of these contest though as I don't name any of my photos. To confine a photograph with so many possible interpretations to a single title isn't my style, and I'm fine with that. Congrats to the winners

Ed ... it's another gorgeous image and in my mind you could print a book of your images of the homeless. I'd buy a copy.

Congrats and you only lost on a technicality. ;) So I still consider you the winner.

Strong image. I just put sump'm because I usually don't title my work either.

Congrats to Allen and the runnrs up!

Sorry but we have to make sure everyone adheres to the same rules...otherwise, we get a lot of complaints behind the sce nes. It is just easier to make sure everyone rolls with the same rules.
Even-Steven and all that garb ;)

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

Totally agree. I don't like to title my images most of the time but do for the contest.

Me too.... and I enter into a lot of stuff around here. It gets tiresome to drum up titles :)

Haha well thank you, I enjoyed your photo as well. Have tried shooting in a playground before but couldn't ever come up with a compilation I was happy with. Great job

Congrats to ALL who submitted some fine captures, great stuff. WTG Allen on your 2nd, er, I mean 1st place showing. Joe, thanks for the great challenge and all of the critique, job well done.

"This image is open for interpretation."--Joe

So true. "December 2000" is definantly a personal interpretaion that will have most scratching their heads, understanably so. And if one really knew me, this image's message becomes clear. That's when it's the photographer's responsibility to convey his/her vision into an interpretable representaion. I've got my work cut out for me.
