So after looking through the "search" function and not finding an answer to my question I thought I'd ask you all. I have a t1i but have been using my older 2gb sandisk card.it's about 4 years old now so it is not HD and definately not high speed. What is a good size card shooting with this much data? I realize ISO,file compression,RAW, all play a part and there is no one answer, but I tend to shoot mostly JPEG now but am making the conversion to trying RAW. Also, it seems you need a "special" card to utilize the video function properly, apparently after reading some of the other threads.
Can anyone elaborate and comment on what they use and how much they paid for it? I am tired of running out of room after only a couple hundred pics. Thanks a ton!

oh yeah, when I review images on the lcd screen it seems to "lag" to load each one when cycling through them to view. I am thinking now maybe it is the card speed and not the camera once I begin to put it all together.

i, too, have a T1i. i have a delkin 16gb class 6 and two 8 gb lexar professional 133's, class 6. the latter were rated #1. the delkin failed once but they replaced it. the lexars haven't failed. bhphoto recently had two 8gb's for $100 which is a good deal.

I got two 8gb scandisk extreme III's, There class 6 i believe, 2 from adorama will run you about $110 and they got 5/5 rating so they don't seem to fail as often as some of the other ones.

I ended up getting it just due to the fact that they were sold out of nearly everything else when i was making a large order to canada so if i ordered them separately its 30-50 bucks just in shipping to start. But.. they have been working exceptionally.

I have a T1i as well and i also use 8GB sandisck extreme 3 class 6 SDHC, I have had no problems with them they seem to load pictures much faster. Found them on ww.amazon.com for around $32, i have always used sandisk and have never had a problem with them, then again I haven't used anything else so i would not know how they compare to others. I have wouldn't use anything less than a class 6, i use a class 10 when i am recording HD videos with my T1i, they run about $50 but are much faster when it comes to loading the videos onto my computer or playing them back in camera. (hope this helps)
