Product Liability Insurance

I am going to be taking some of my photos to the local farmer's market, they are requiring product liability insurance. Does anybody have any ideas on where to get this and how much it is? Thank you!

Product liability insurance? Let me guess, this is a government-run market?

Product liability insurance is insurance that a manufacturer or producer gets to protect them in case one of their products causes property damage or injures someone after they take it home. I'm guessing the market requires it in case someone gets sick from something they buy at the market.


I'm not really sure what your photograph is going to possibly do to anyone or their homes after they take it home that could ever be made out to be your fault. You surely need to have general liability insurance in case one of your displays tip over, but I'm not sure why you'd need product liability insurance.

I would have a talk with the operator of the market and discuss whether you need anything beyond general liability.


As to where to get the insurance, I recommend visiting an independent insurance agent that is local to you to discuss this. They'll be able to figure out exactly what you need and find you a good price with a good company.
