From what I'v heard here in the UK they are stopping the launching of the shuttle do to age and cost, so it's a good job you had your remote to capture this as you might not get another chance.

Excellent shot by the way..;)

Great photo.

Yes, the shuttle program is ending this year. Too expensive, and two of the five ships have blown up with astronauts on board. Sad.

Again, great photo.

Thank you. bw!

Nice shot. Let's keep the politics out of it, people.

Nice shot. I hate to see the Shuttle program closing. However, it's time. They are very cost ineffective. While tragic and I hate to see this type of thing, given the flight hours and missions, 2 is a rather low number. In quantity, not quality, of course. We lost some great astronauts. I think it is time for NASA or anyone for that matter, to see a way to get us back into space and onto the moon again. It's sad that the last time we've landed on the moon was 38 years ago.

Beautiful shot. I've seen it pass overhead in orbit many times, but have never seen a launch in person.

- I discovered I scream the same way whether I'm about to be devoured by a great white shark or if a piece of seaweed touches my foot.
