Tips for Indy Car racing

I have a photo pass for this weekends Indy Car race here at Barbers Motor sports in Alabama. What lens and camera would you suggest for this type of event

i have a canon 5d markii ,canon 40d and 30d

lenses are below
70-200 is 2.8 canon
120-300 2.8 sigma
85mm 1.2 canon
24mm 1.4 canon

Most of the battle is finding good angles and locations to view cars without a fence in the way. Second major factor is keeping the cars in frame.

One good step is to purchase a paddock pass, if available, to get shots of cars in the garage area. If you do that, remember the cars have the right of way in the paddock, and if you get run over, it's your fault. Also be aware that a paddock pass gets you nowhere the race pits, which is an area to avoid unless you're very familiar with race tracks.

I like using my 5D2 for motorsports just because of the extra pixels and my 100-400 is more than enough reach for the tracks I go to. That said, your 40D will focus MUCH faster which is a help and it turns your 200 into 320. You might want to go with the 40D.
