Thinking about getting this for the tutorials and magazine. I bought a mag from the bookstore and I really like it since I really never did much in photoshop since it's so daunting, but I think seeing and following along would proof useful. But for $99, I wonder if it's worth it. Thoughts?

Go For It...

Getting Free Shipping from B&H has paid for my NAPP membership several times over. ;)

I find the magazine to be very, very helpful as well.

Ditto here...not to mention software discounts.

Tried it for a lark three years ago...been larking ever since. The forums are great.
Don't overlook www.KelbyTraining.com (external link) but www.lynda.com (external link) is better.

I've just renewed mainly for the discounts, which will cover the membership fee. The added bonus is the website, tutorials and mag. Save the storage space and go for the digital edition.

You get discounts on most of the popular plug ins, NIK, OnOne, Site Grinder, etc. You get free shipping form B&H. There are hardware discounts that are too numerous to mention.

I joined NAPP when I first started going digital and the tutorials helped me alot. Overall I feel that it is a good 99.00 expenditure. I have attended several of the seminars that they give around the country and you get a discount on them as well. I've certainly spent that amount of money on things that are more foolish.

I do agree that if you want something that is going to teach you photoshop then have a look at Lynda.com. I have not tried Kelbytraining.com and have seen mixed reviews on it. They are still fairly new and building up their library of courses. Lynda certainly covers a much broader range of subjects if your interests extend beyond Photoshop.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

It's worth it just for the magazine...and the convention (Photoshop World) is incredible!

I recently purchased LR2.6 and CS4 through a good deal from Adobe because I was a registered PSE user. Even though LR3 and CS5 are about upon us, the deal was too good to pass up. Got both for less than the CS4 street price. YAY!
Inside both the LR and CS4 boxes were sheets to get 2 free Photoshop user magazines. While registering to get the 2 magazines, I looked over the NAPP stuff and was on the fence about it until reading this thread. It sounds like it is worth the yearly cost based on the benefits. So, I think I will be joining too.
Thanks for all the positive comments on this thread.
