Looks like a dreary old day, with uninspired racing reflecting in the pics which lack a bit voo va voom, colours are a bit flat as are compositions, that said the pics are well taken with good shutter speeds.

Hi Pons

I do agree, had some tips from GSH how to PP so going to have a go and re-post a few. I always have problems at croft with colour ( may be just dull days everytime I go )

Cheers for posting

Alan,

Your timing is absolutely spot on on some of these, with flames and sparks captured well.

#3 is in my opinion the strongest of this set. For me, the car is a little bit too central in the frame. I would try cropping in from the LHS (while keeping the same aspect ratio) to re-position the car slightly in the frame as I've shown below (let me know if you're not happy with me editing the photograph and I'll remove it straight away, as you currently don't have 'image editing allowed' enabled in your profile). I also gave it a slight levels tweak which has helped the colours. I think re-positioning the car to that position makes the composition a bit stronger. You can do this in camera by using an off centre focus point.

Cheers,

Simon.

Simon, I don`t mind you playing with photos at all, it’s great to see what you are explaining.

While you put this up, I have been playing with Capture One (Geoff said to give it a try) the below is what I came out with.....

These look any better than the above off mine? Or am I getting a too tight? Or over doing it on the colour.

Thanks for your time to help

Much better than the original! IMHO of course :)

For me the pans could do with a slower shutter speed, giving more sense of movement.

HI Alan,

Looks like the weather wasn't much help to you on the day, but there are a few places at Croft where pans (shudder) can work for you...slower speeds will help too, but no need to get stupidly low unless you want to.

Thanks for taking the time to post. Thanks for the new ideas, I have been out today at croft and had a play with a few new angles, I think I will take the time now to have a play in C1. I used a tip from simon today setting my shutter speed then changed my ISO to give me a f8 to f11, looking forward to see the results downloading images now.

Thanks Alan
