Stirling and Bridge of Allan put on Meet Me In St Louis as their annual show this year, and I went along to photograph them. This was only my second or third outing with the 5D, and I think I've got a bit of a way to go on it... something just doesn't quite work about some of the pictures.
Anyway, here goes
1. This girl, playing "Tootie", was absolutely wonderful
2. I think that this image is over-sharpened - my mistake. But I am very impressed by the level of detail - such as in the hair or the embroidery of the blouse - that the 5D pulls out (helped, I am sure, by Lightroom 3 Beta 2).

3. A chorus scene. The children do a dance to amuse the adults.

4. A romantic scene. The lighting was still in the process of being plotted... that's what rehearsals are for!

5. The lead sister is determined she's going to overcome her sorrow at not getting the man of her dreams, she's going to get on the trolley and have a good time. The ultra-shallow DoF on the 5D does make shots like this really easy (and boy is that a double-edged sword!)

6. I think there was a certain era of musicals that just had to have a song about being Irish. This was that (rather awful) song!

7. The two sisters... I'll be honest, I'd quite forgotten what the plot was all about by this point

8. The Finale
