Other than that, pretty cool. I was going to say that, but refrained...I think scientific accuracy is less important in this case than the overall feel of the photo (IMHO)

I don't think removing the stars would change the feeling of this picture. A7R, Firin 20mm, CV 21/4, CV 40/1.4, 100ZE, 300 4LIS, Tamron 150-600, Jupiter 8, RX100 IV

I don't think removing the stars would change the feeling of this picture. It would prevent people like me from having something to criticize though. ![]() Nonetheless, I still like it. Cheers. You've got a point, but for me the star in the crescent is a little touch of unreality which reminds the viewer they are not really looking at the sky, but an approximation of the sky. It creates a certain feel by being almost but not quite real: emotionally you are seeing a sky, but the rational part of your mind knows there is something wrong...

Apr 09, 2010 04:09 | #10 Thanks much for all the comments. Right, there IS a "fault in the reality". Interestingly, it can perceived as wrong or as "added interest". Now, I am tempted to remove the stars in front of the dark moon, but somehow I also see the interest in leaving this little fault to send s slight signal that this scene is actually not mainly trying to look real. It is much more a visual metaphor than a documentary shot. More on my BLOG
