It was on the national news tonight.

Took place in 2007 I think.

Yeah, I saw the entire uncensored video and it was quite disturbing.
They "thought" they saw either an RPG or an AK47 or both.
Safe to say they saw what they wanted to see...and 2 Reuters Photographers are gone b/c of it.

Actually, it looked like the AK47s carried by the others got them killed. If you look at the video carefully, you do see weapons. Hanging out with armed insurgents is not healthy, specially when no one knows about it. Sad.

Since when does carrying AK47's get you absolutely shredded by rounds and rounds of bullets?

Anyways, unfortunate situation. Better not to try to make sense out of something that doesn't make sense to begin with.:(

Nick-san - The number of bullets is not the issue. The OP said carrying a white lens got them killed. Not true. There were weapons visible and under the rules of engagement that made them fair game. I 'm not taking sides. I feel sorry for the journalists/photographers getting into harms way. that is all.

What I saw in the uncensored 17 min version of the video was quite a bit more disturbing and is far more telling than these short clip.

Anyways, it's war and there ain't nothing pretty about it...

I think a white lens would less likely be mistaken as an RPG over a black lens. Regardless of the color though at those distances it's hard to rule out for sure an RPG being pointed at the US soldiers. It's a horrible video and I wish I hadn't seen it.
