Jul 13, 2005 20:46 | #5 I really like these shots, shows the beauty w/o the petals. Good usage of "rule of thirds", now i'm really starting to understand how that rule can work in some photographes. I am seeing things in good photographs, like these, that I would not have understood before. I mean, I know I like what I see, but now I'm starting to understand "why" I like it. Have a new camera PowerShot sx410 canon. Loving it and back again to keep learning and enjoying Photography.

Nice work. -Bruce I have to admit, when i was taking the picture, I double checked to make sure it was part of the plant. It just had such a square shape to it. thanks for the kind words. Mother Nature never ceases to amaze me. Canon 5D

This most likely the seed capsule from a genus of plants called "seedboxes" - no wonder! There are a lot of native species, but one or more are non-native and are real nuisance plants in Florida. Bald Eagle - great pics. What's your lens combo on this? Thanks for the I.D. and the kind words. At the time i was using a 28-80 sigma minizoom macro lens with a 25mm extension tube, natural light, ISO of 100, on Tv mode, 1/30 at 5.6 on tripod with cable release. Canon 5D
