April usually means spring skiing in Idaho. You know blue skies, warm weather and soft snow

It also means pond skimming

First you dig a trench, line it and fill with water.

The weather didn't cooperate and dumped a foot of snow and dropped temps to 15 so you have to seine out the snow and ice first.

Start the contestants up the hill a 100 yards and let 'em fly
single elimination and contestants move down the hill for each round.
"down the hill" means less speed and more crashes.

Add some crazies (costumes encouraged)

3)The idea is to keep up the speed and lean back a little
but not too much

4) dont lean too forward either

In the first one I would expect the snow to be white.

Yes, on the first round most all made it. Then they move the start line 30 or 40 feet down the hill which = less speed. Took 4 rounds to eliminate all but one.

Seems that the transition from snow to water was the tricky part.

You are going fast and hit the drag of the water

See the technique on this guy, he leans back on entry so as to not sub out in the water

then gradually settles forward and skims across.

Ahhh Brundage. Forgot about that one. My patents live in Boise and we try to make a trip up there whenever we can. McCall is beautiful!
