I just had to tell you guys - I finally ordered the 5D Mark II!
And yes - I am very excited about it :)

And now for my questions...

1 - How different does it feel to shoot with the 5DII vs the 40D/30D?

2 - I have heard the 5DII really pushes lenses for IQ. I have the 85 1.8, 70-200 2.8 IS, and a 400 5.6. Will these meet the needs of the 5DII?

3 - What kind of differences have you seen in PP?

Thanks in advance for your help!

In terms of resolving power I imagine the 5D mark II would be easier on lenses than the 50D or 7D. Simply farther spaced out pixels = less resolving resolution needed for fine details.

It's only harder in terms of border quality. Which all your lenses do just fine at.

well as a macro shooter it obviously doesn't have the advantage of the 1.6 crop field of view to fill the frame when shooting the smallest subjects. However it crops so well due to the high resolution and excellent noise control that this is not a disadvantage in reality.

You'll love the 5DMII. Here's a shot from an Easter play the other night at ISO 3200. Shot with the 135mm f2 @ f2.0.

Thanks for the feedback - I am definitely looking forward to trying out the new camera :)

AbigailandSam - that is a great pic! How much PP did you have to do on that one (if any)?
