Hello

Anyone using mpix pro? I have a job I am working on, and usually use mpix. Didn't know if it was worth going through the hassle of setting up with them.

Thanks

I use MpixPro almost exclusively. The best part is overnight shipping. $4 for orders under $100 and free for orders over $100. Their ROES UI is very user friendly. I think that MpixPro's pricing is a bit better, but I haven't compared lately.

I use Mpixpro too. It really is no hassle to setting up an account with them - takes about the same amount of time as opening up a Mpix account.

I thought Millers was the professional version of Mpix. Now I am just confused.

They are three entities now. Mpix, MpixPro and Millers. Each one offers exclusive products but each one also has overlapping products with different pricing. It does get confusing however it all depends on what your ordering. If prints, go with mpix as its usually the cheapest. They all use the same printers and machines so an 8x10 from millers, mpix pro or mpix is one in the same, even though they have different pricing. I am signed up for all three but use mpix for prints and millers for albums...havent really found a use for mpix pro yet.

I have bought things from Millers, Mpix and MpixPro. There is zero quality difference between the three. All are high quality. I'm sure there are a couple of things that Millers might offer that Mpix and MpixPro doesn't, but I know that they're all in the same "family" and will deliver high quality, cost-effective products. The one thing that I will use Millers use before MpixPro is their sports buttons. I will only order sports buttons from Millers, unless I get real determined to design my own.

I actually tested this, and the results were different. Same images to three companies, Millers, Mpix Pro, and WHCC, all uncorrected 8x10's. Mpix Pro reminded me of Mpix since the images had a yellow cast. Millers was more neutral but had higher contrast, and some colors were slightly more saturated (and some less), relative to the other two. WHCC had a slight red cast, but that might be because they use different equipment.

I've no idea why they're different, but that's what I saw.

I'll have to go back and check that out. I have all the 8x10s that I sent to Mpix, MpixPro, Millers, WHCC and Buckeye Lab. I'll dig those out and compare. Thanks for the tip. I don't recall seeing that much of a difference, but then again, I didn't compare them side by side.

In my mind, it's a natural progression from Mpix to MpixPro to Millers. I've used them all, the first two since the beginning.

Mpix is an affordable solution for the beginning photographer, mom with a camera (mwac), or advanced amateur. They have a good product line including some press options. They also offer free color correction if needed, drop shipping, and boutique packaging.

As for me, I outgrew Mpix and needed something more. MpixPro was a great solution for me because not only did it have all the Mpix products, it had about double the product offering. I sell metal murals, metal prints, custom CDs and cases, images boxes, and acrylics now. Also, I love their layflat album as a step up from the original press book (in my opinion). MpixPro doesn't color correct, but they have a good video on their site from Matt Kloskowski on calibrating your monitor. The shipping, as stated above, is cheaper and overnight by default (and free over 100 bucks). One other main thing I LOOOOVE is that MpixPro (and Millers) don't publish their pricing to the public, unlike Mpix and WHCC (and countless others). Oh, I forgot the super smart ROES ordering - super duper easy! You can even select multiple paper types in a single order. No joke!

Millers is like the big daddy of them all. In addition to all the products above, they have a TON of services (which is why the prices are higher - the VALUE is higher). It is the same printer that'll make the 8x10, but you also get access to all Miller's add-ons like Book{m}, their online studio management software, MarketNow, and others. They also have some amazing albums - I use them for our wedding albums because they're great quality and still have a 3 day turnaround time.
Yep, THREE days! That's crazy talk!

Okay, so how about that for my first post! :)

Can I just say that I signed up for an account yesterday around 10AM CST, with MpixPro, and submitted my 4 sample images to them, and had them on my door step sometime before Noon today!!

Impressed already. The quality of print was outstanding too!
I'm waiting on my other 3 (WHCC, BayPhoto, and Millers), to compare to.

Millers will /should be the same, they use the same presses. I found Millers/Mpix/mpro to be a little more color accurate than Bayphoto though bayphotos 6 color option is very nice. I thought WHCC was a step below Millers.
