I'd like to see it a bit less centered, and the black looks a bit noisy. Any other angles?

look slightly out of focus to me. better light and faster shutter might help. agree about not centering it. thanks for sharing.

For a 15 year old kid with his first DSLR, I think that's a great work. Perhaps even Apple would like to see that.

Your second crop looks better, IMO. I'd also adjust your white balance and exposure slightly...the earbuds look a bit warm and slightly underexposed on my monitor.
