I'm wondering if the group can help me.

Take a look at the below image, specifically the grey mark on the subject's lip.

HTTP response: 404 | MIME changed to 'text/html' | Byte size: ZERO

When I first imported the image (and there are more like this from the shoot) into Lightroom the marks were not there, then they suddenly appeared. These are long exposure shots so my wife could write with light but I don't see how that would matter.

For a while I thought this was an isolated incident with the 5DII RAW files but it has not occurred since. Then today I was importing some RAWs from my G11 and when switching the profile to Camera faithful it happened to those images. Changing the profile back did not correct the issue. However, deleting and reimporting the images did not repeat the issue.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what could cause this?

You got me, I have never seen this happen, almost looks like the areas are desaturated some how. Do the Grey areas appear in the same spot on all the photos or do they change?

I have experienced this as well!

I thought mine was a freak occurrence but your experience proved me otherwise.

I too had these grey streaks appear in some of my pictures. RAW files imported from my 5dmk2. It seems like the adjustment brush in LR went awry at one point. I was pretty far in the process of editing so the only way was to use the eraser to get rid of them.

Only happened to me once.

I'd guess that the video card is not redrawing the display properly when it changes. LR has a history of problems with certain Nvidia cards. If you are not on 2.6 update or even try 2.7 RC.

My guess as well.

Did you do any local adjustments?
Try deleting those...

My first thought was that you've sync'd settings from another image - and they include a brush stroke or few.

Thank you so much everyone, it was synced brush strokes that desaturated the image. I didn't even think to look at the adjustment brush as the culprit.

You gotta also watch when you import them, you might have a preset you created set to apply and in that preset you have synced brush strokes, or simply hit the reset button at the lower right after import and it will remove the applied preset on import. Glad you got it resolved. This forum is a wealth of information.
