These were shot from Gravelly point, which is cool place to watch arrivals when the winds are from the south.

First looks a tad dark but the USAir is nice. The touchdown shots on your site are nice as well.

One of the better spots around the country from which to shoot. One that ought to be the "poster child" for photography freedom at airports everywhere!

If you can get this close right in DC, it ought to be possible everywhere!!

It was late in the evening, didn't want to dial up ISO too much due to noise.

Jay: I agree with your comment about this being the 'poster child' for spotting despite being so close to DC.

Now, it's time to rent the new sigma 50-500 OS and head back out there...yay!!!!
