The canon grip is still better than no grip at all though!

Rocking the R6 and (mostly) the 24-105 f4 L, 50mm f1.8 STM, and EF 135mm f2 L along with a few others.

I just can't stand an ungripped camera - big hands make even the xxD series feel too small w/o a grip!

Have you ever played xbox? They made their controllers fit nicely in your hand and guess what happened? Your hands would sweat if you used the controller for too long. I don't think I'd want the battery grip to fit perfectly in the hand. You need some air to get in between your hand and the grip material.

Sounds like a silly hypothesis but after days of playing Halo you'd understand my point.

But the difference is I don't think anyone holds a camera in their hand in the same position for 4 hours straight. When you're playing Halo, your hand is there on the controller in about the same position for a long time. When you're shooting, you're moving around, and your hand is only on the camera when you're taking shots.

oh, I know, I'm the same way :) I was simply saying that if the best thing someone can say about any product is "it's better than nothing" that's pretty bad haha.

But I agree, ever since I got my first grip about 3 yrs ago I haven't had anything without a grip, totally completes the camera for me.

not only is the 20d still to small for my massive hands, ungripped, the grip makes me look pro.. so i keep it around ;)
I have a targus grip, they utilize the side-entry and sideways (batteries going in the same direction as the grip... if that makes sense) LOL

Well, I ordered one a while ago, played with it for 10 minutes and then stuck it back in its box and returned it. The thing only added to the bulk and was, quite frankly, a pain to grip which kind of defeats the purpose.

'nuff said ;)

(in all seriousness, I got a cheap 1DmarkIIn over a 7D partly because of the built)

yes a 1 series would solve the problem.....
But I don't have *quite* enough to buy one of those, now if I scrimped I could get one, then shoot pinhole through the bodycap haha!

Is that a canon brand grip on the 7D? Doesnt look like it, its missing the scaly looking rubber on the back. Mine has it, but mine is Canon brand.
